On Susperia’s highly anticipated anniversary album, which celebrates 10 years as a recording artist, we get a brand new song, 3 orchestral versions of well known tracks, Susperia’s contribution to the Eurovision 2011 contest and a remastered version of the “Illusions of Evil” demo from 1999.

The band also managed to get Mustis (ex Dimmu Borgir) in their ranks for this release. He also appeared on the mentioned “Illusions of Evil” demo from 1999. I was very eager to hear the old songs in a more symphonic outfit and I have to say that it does sound good and is a good fit, especially the song “The Bitter Man”.

But the most exciting part of the album to me was to hear the demo from 99 which is exceptionally good. Even though 4 of the tracks were re-recorded and were featured on Susperia’s debut, the original raw sound is much more pleasing to my ears.

“We are the Ones” is all in all a worthy anniversary celebration and an album which will be played a lot in my house in the coming weeks. Not much of the album is totally new, but it’s still a worthy anniversary album.
